God the Father is NOT the God of the Old Testament?

Your thoughts on this?

Many people believe that when Adam and Eve were walking and talking with God, that they were relating to GOD the Father.

That is actually, not correct.

The Jewish community teaches that the God of the Old Testament is God the Father. That is where this doctrine of God teaching comes from. It is oft repeated by Christians who do not do a thorough search of New Testament scriptures to corroborate the claim. The New Testament actually tells a very different story.

There are numerous scriptures showing that this that follows is how the New Testament writers and Jesus himself understood the Old Testament concept of God.

For Example: John 1:18 "No one has ever seen God; the only begotten Son, who is at the Father’s side, he has made him known."
Notice the all-inclusive statement, "no one has ever seen God" this includes the man Adam, and his wife Eve.

John 1:1 is an example pointing the reader in the correct direction to identify who they were relating with:
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." (ESV)

Also, John 1:3 continues the subject about the WORD of God: "All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made."

In other words, The WORD of God was with GOD and the WORD was God who created everything.

Paul picks up on this subject and teaches it quite plainly in I Corinthians 1:16, "For by him (Jesus) all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him."

The writer of Hebrews also teaches this in Hebrews 1:1-2 "God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds..."

The Hebrew language in the book of Genesis 3:8 leads one to understand: "And they heard the Voice of the LORD God (Elohim - The WORD of God who created us) walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden."

In other words, the VOICE of GOD the Father was literally walking around calling for them. What is another word for someone's Voice? Their "Words." Thus the Word of God was literally calling out to Adam and Eve, whom He (the Word) created.

In other words, the LORD God (Jehovah Elohim) of the Old Testament is God-the-Son, who actually did the act of creating the Universe and Everything in it.

Thus, the Jewish people find this a stumbling block.

Jesus said, "Before Abraham was, I AM." John 8:58. Declaring Himself to be the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

The one who literally created us, lost us through sin, then took on the form of frail man to redeem us from the curse! He is the Word who was made flesh and dwelt among us (John 1:14):
"And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth."

There is so much more I could say on this subject, but I'll save it for my upcoming book, which is in the final editing process. It is on this subject.
