The God of the Process?

"Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us." Romans 5:3-5 English Standard Version (ESV)

Our God has demonstrated time and again that He chooses often to be a God of process.

I've had many a friend who were addicts to alcohol and drugs, pornography and gambling, cell phones and others. Many found their identity in Jesus and were instantly free.

However, Most of the people I know go through a much longer process, even while chasing hard after Jesus.

I have seen people instantly healed of life-threatening diseases, and I know many who still struggle with debilitating and chronic conditions.

Why should we expect the emotional or psychological realm to be any different?

Some get a revelation of the Father and their identity in Him and are immediately healed!

The majority that I have known have had to walk out a process, because Sanctification is important for us. God is concerned about us: Body, Mind and Spirit -- Relationships with Him, our relationships with others and our relationship with ourselves.

Most often, we need help for the process, but are too prideful thinking we can do it "just me and Jesus," or too afraid to show weakness for fear of rejection or judgment.

On the other hand, too few even now are trained on how to help if you do reach out, so the fear of judgment from others is far too often justified.

But guess what?

There are wonderful ministries and ministers who do care and are trained on how to help.

If you have such a ministry, or can recommend one, post a link in the comments section.
